another mother

Here I am again back on the Organelle ecosystem! I recently bought a second-hand Native Instrument Komplete Kontrol A49 so I thought it was cool to adapt the Desktop Mother made by Owen Osborn to be used with a MIDI keyboard. I changed all the key input to better suit the note input which behaves differently from the PC keyboard. Then I created a basic subpatch that uses the knobs and the modulation wheel on the KK A49 to control the sliders.

The main difference from the original patch starts here: I decided that I would prefer to have a screen emulator to read what every knob does rather than read every changelog from the pd window. After some research, I found a way here to use canvas to display text variables.

In the end, I aligned everything cleaning the 「 æ s t h e t i c s 」. Take a look at it!

Patch main page look

You can download it for free on Patchstorage. If your MIDI keyboard have different CCs values for the knob you can change the [ctlin] argument inside [pd knobs] to better suit your setup. Until now, it only supports singlepage patches, but I'd like to improve it by adding compatibility for multipage patches. Sooner or later I will (try at least LOL).

Although it was very simple I am proud of it. It was a fun Sunday little project!
