Macro Advance XL
Last month I bought a broken Nintendo DS as shown in the image below.
The bottom screen was fully functioning so I decided to try to make a Macro Advance. If you don't know what it is here you can find some info.
I disassembled my DS collecting the bottom screen, the bottom PCB, and a speaker. I bought a resistor and I was ready for soldering!
For the soldering instruction, I prop The Broken Past tutorial perfect for newbies like me.
And after putting everything together again... TA DAAAAM!
The hardest part was to keep the L and R springs in place during assembling. Very easy mod. Now I should do something for removing the plastic hinge from the body and close the holes.
May 2021 update: still nothing done to close the holes LOL.
October 2023 update: it's been a while, but now I have a 3D printer guys. This means that I don't have to look at these ugly hinges anymore!
If you like it you can click here to download the STL.
Be careful if you print with supports, because the cover is just one layer thick and I broke the first handful of prototypes
trying to remove them.
