pikocore

ed: this article follows the nyblcore one. Check it out first!

While I ordered the PCB for nyblcore, I decided to get one for the pikocore too, a more powerful device still developed by Zach Scholl (infinite digits).
This one is built around a Raspberry Pi Pico, which makes the flashing firmware part easier. However, the Gerbers needed for manufacturing the PCB are not available directly from the website. Don't worry, this isn't a problem because our man Zach shared all the information needed to build one anyway. Yay!
I grabbed the schematics and designed my pikocore edition: larger and messier PCB than the original one, but still functional for playing around a bit.

Building this one was easy too thanks to the detailed instructions provided.
But in the end, it wasn't working... something's missing in the photos below, can you spot them?

Bingo, I forgot to solder 3 resistors LOL. Nothing to worry about.
Fixed this blunder the pikocore started annoying the condo!

Talking about another Zack (with a "k"), during these months I accumulated a lot of electronic components, so I decided to sort them in a box (mainly). I joined the Gridfinity mob and printed a lot of boxes to store them tidily. Specifically, I decided to use 2, 3, and 6 units as heights.
I have found this Fusion360 plugin that does all the job for me. The only thing I had to manually edit was the baseplate grid because my printer kept messing it. I just added a full layer beneath the standard one to keep all the outliles in place.
This is still a work in progress but seems functional for now.

ed: since Zach didn't share the original PCB, I decided to not share mine too. If you want to support his work you can buy a pikocore directly from him or other dealers listed on the product page.
